SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Saturday's 0-0 draw at Stevenage.
Nothing is going to change soon, even if the embargo is lifted it doesn’t mean we are guaranteed to score goals. By January it will be over unless we can pick up at least two or three wins in December.
@jervis_raymond
Finally found a team just as bad as us. Had three or four opportunities and yet again wasted every single one. Sam and Sim may be welcomed additions, but they wont save us from the drop.
@DanBasildonBlue
A poor game with a makeshift team and no striker of League Two ability on show. I understand the budget issues, but how come we have the worst team in League Two, especially as we were League One last season. Hands up Ron, the finances have been completely mismanaged for several years.
@cjblues2505
If we had a striker we would have won. We don't, we are going down.
@JamesBurton90
If we had a half decent striker registered we'd have won. But we don't so we didn't. And by the time we do it will be too late.
@Moorhouse79
Massively lacking a proven finisher. Defensively we limited them to a few half chances, and did enough to win the game. Just lacked composure in front of goal.
@JoePayne_
Another classic example of a team that is incapable of scoring goals. This was a game between two poor teams but we still had the better chances to win the game. There are only two things that matter next week, that is the embargo being removed and getting a win next Saturday.
@Johnfrench52Sky
We just can't seem to score.. Bit more firepower and we would have had three points.
@TidburyG
Well again we created more chances than the opposition ( same as at Bolton) but same problem. We can’t score. Defence solid, especially the centre backs,& Macca led by example with a top display, but embargo needs lifting to get some new forwards in!
@tommyharris57
Better defensively but Stevenage not great. We had many chances and we HAVE to put at least one away. Mac made presence felt and seems more of a captain than JD. No team aerial ability and poor control continues to cost us chances and create them for opponents. Frustrating.
@guybo2112
Taylor at right wing experiment did not work. Olayinka was wasted in the centre against the Stevenage diamond. Defensively no issues apart from the usual statue in goal. We were well organised and there was real will to battle (led by Macca), if only we could score.
@DonsEssex
Good effort from the team. We had some good opportunities to put this game to bed it shows how short of a striker we are. McCormack, played exceptionally well , and was my man of the match. I thought Egbri should have started. We got a point should have been three.
@SJC21660849
Whilst a point and a clean sheet is an improvement on recent weeks, Stevenage were there for the taking, but sadly the embargo means we have zero creativity and no goalscorers. Yes, we've improved defensively, but goals win games and without wins we're finished.
@shrimperlee
Stevenage were there for the taking. We were better team and should have won it given second half chances. Macca nearly scored a cracker. I feel the turnaround coming.
@RaleighBanana76
A better defensive display just lacking as usual the killer touch going forward. A point is still something to keep us in touch with a few other clubs at the bottom. Our situation is grave but Saturday showed we are not finished yet.
@phillsilver9
Defence good especially Dieng, Macca fantastic in midfield. Missed chances but 10 players missing, so not too bad. Richard Taylor right wing?
@JohnDavidWood59
Was clearly evident for all to see that both of these sides are going down. Both so bad that they can’t beat each other.
@GeorgeWebb77
A point is a point.
@Peterhlen
Such a poor quality game to watch. A half decent away side would have won there 3-0 no question. However yet again we weren't good enough following Ron's decimation of the squad. These two clubs will probably be the bottom two come May.
@shrimpersaway
Actually better than I had feared and borderline entertaining. More attacking play, better defending and McCormack stand out...if only he had the legs. Finishing though is the problem. Goodship and Emile as poor in front of goal as anyone I have seen in a Blues shirt in 60 years.
@Bluntswood
Problem is that even though we had shots we generally create so few clear chances that we’d need a 100 per cent strike rate to win games. Even Kane/Messi don’t achieve that.I still rate Goodship; Emile offers absolutely nothing — Egbri is better in the air! Midfield looks better.
@BryanGOBsmacked
Lots of effort but little quality from either side. Have seen more enjoyable Sunday league games. Confirms what the league already shows. Two sides who look like they are going down.
@SufcWEST
It's simple, no goals no wins. Only wins can save Blues. Long as Ron Martin is in charge we are doomed. I've no faith he will deliver the competent striker we so badly need. He will not get the transfer embargo lifted because I reckon he still owes tax that will be due soon.
@PbiscoePeter
A day of absolute mediocrity deemed to be ok based on in what is the worst season in our history. One win in 20? Promotion form required to stay in the football league. This is getting serious now, time to stand up and be counted!
@benclarkson85
How on earth did Ron Martin think that selling both Humphrys and Kellman and not replacing them would result in anything other than this? MM is just as culpable for standing by and letting him do it - shows how desperate he is for a job. It's a complete shambles - we're doomed.
