SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Tuesday night's 3-1 win against Grimsby Town.
Massive result! Need to keep the momentum going to give us hope that we can beat the drop.
@seasider_paul
Fantastic substitutions from Molesley changed the game. Sim looks exceptional, once he gets fully match fit we've got a real player there. Egbri's got to start on Saturday for me, absolutely runs his socks off whenever he gets the chance. First time I've felt really optimistic.
@CFConnolly97
Excellent start to the game going 1-0 up but did not play well at all for the rest of the first half. Molesley was spot on with his Subs at half time and it changed the game. Brilliant second half and more strength in depth. Dieng, Hobson solid again. Two wins in four days, Merry Christmas.
@KetchleyShane
Great performance. Gutted weve gone into tier three because the fans evidently gave them a boost.
@JukeBox2001
Was great to be back in the ground; there seems a different feel since last Thursday ... the new players have made a huge difference. Poor first half, MM very honest in interview, great subs at HT, changed the game. We stretched the game second half. Players wanted it.
@harrisufc
In all honesty we were extremely lucky again, but I won't be complaining!
@Jaimundo_ESX
So glad we stuck with molesley and his management team. Massive credit to them today, first half there was only one team in it in Grimsby and two up top nowhere near good enough. Subs at HT changed the game and he realised that early enough. Could Halford up top be the answer?
@wheeliosmaximus
We rode our luck in the first half, but very impressive second half with introduction of Akinola and Egbri hugely increasing the intensity and work rate of the team. Have an opportunity to start to move away from the bottom which would be a great achievement after our start.
@Moorhouse79
Game of two halves for sure. Without the opening goal we could have been done by half time. Credit for the half time subs as they changed and Grimsby barely threatened after that. Egbri is being used well now, never stops running. Hobson has come on leaps, Clifford remains class.
@sjapresley
Apart from the first goal the first half was one to forget but second was different gravy. Dieng/Hobson again both incredible. There’s a different feel about the team at the moment. Spine of Oxley/Dieng/Hobson/Demetriou have made the difference in the last 2
@Ljarvis27
First half we were outplayed but changes made at half time shaped the game our way. JD Controlled the game well and Dieng is now crucial to our progress.Things looking up we really need to pick up points in the tricky games over the holiday then we can start believing.
@shrimpersaway
We’re finally getting some luck whilst also taking our chances. The subs changed the game, great to see a strong bench for the first time. Feels great to have some pride back in our team!
@mattysufc
So glad to be back in Roots Hall and to have back to back wins. What a difference the embargo lifted made. So glad MM did changes after the first half. Hate COVID!!!!
@clarebear62_b
Lucky to still be in it let alone level at half time. Credit MM for the changes which completely altered the game. Strength on the bench made the difference. Looks and feels a different football club. It’s been great being back for the last two games.
@Jones616Kevin
A great win thanks to Lady Luck helping us again. Defence immense again to keep us in the game when Grimsby were by far the better side in the first half. Second half much better when both forwards replaced and full credit to Molesley with his substitutions.
@tommyharris57
Great to win two in a row. I was a lot younger last time that happened! Sat too deep first half and little upfront, glad MM changed it as subs made a difference and also pushed the midfield on. Olayinka is a cut above and a must hang onto.
@onlytheburge
All credit to MM. Identified that it wasn’t working in a first half we were dominated in, made changes immediately, changed the game. Second half he outplayed Ian Holloway completely, team were brilliant. Mark Molesley we are right behind you, keep up the fantastic work.
@samgoody23
It does feel like we’ve turned a corner. Still a long way to go but 10 points now from six games and tonight really got to see what MM can do when he’s got options to choose from. Completely changed the game with his subs and feels like momentum is building.
@paulmellor86
In a way I’m glad Grimsby got their goal. If we went into half time 1-0 up then we would be playing like we did in the first half, sitting back and allowing pressure, in the second half. Team talk worked a treat and took the game by the scruff of the neck. Deserved three points.
@ItsMrFoxy
MM made some big calls and got them right, credit to him. A bench with options is major difference & slowly confidence is increasing. Lovely to be at last two games and see the off the ball action. At last SUFC not being a nice team, niggling opponents and slowing game down
@thedove01
It's night and day compared to six weeks ago. This is a genuine Professional football team with experience all over the field. First time I've felt positive about the club in a couple of years.
@acameron78
25 points off top with a game in hand
