GRIMSBY Town manager Ian Holloway felt Southend United were helped immensely by the Roots Hall faithful during Tuesday night's clash.

The Shrimpers beat Holloway's side 3-1 to move to within a point of safety.

And Holloway believes Blues were boosted by their own supporters.

"Their crowd has helped them immensely," Holloway told BBC Humberside.

"How bad they were in the first half, yes they were 1-0 up, but we made them look like that and their fans didn’t moan at them coming off, none of them.

"At the minute we need our fans in our ground because I think they would do the same for us and my boys need that."
