SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Saturday's 1-1 draw at Mansfield Town.

Injuries ruined our shape a bit, lads did well to get a draw in the end. Referee was an absolute shambles and shouldn't be at this level, ask any FL fan who has had him. Sim and Egbri worked their socks off again.

@CFConnolly97

A game we would have lost a month or so ago. Should’ve built off our first half performance and tried to close the game out too early, but all in all a good point away from home.

@BrodyStopher16

Great goal by Olayinka. Fantastic spirit to hold on for the draw. Great character in poor playing conditions. We are going in the right direction and if we keep on fighting like the last few games, maybe come May we will survive. Lots of positives to build on. In MM we trust.

@robertaskew7

Great first half display capped by a super goal from Olayinka. Stonewall pen not given by the ref ultimately cost us the win though.Second half we were under lots of pressure as we tired on the boggy pitch, but defence immense again. Hopefully Macca & Clifford's injuries not serious.

@tommyharris57

Proud of the lads again today, if you told me at the start of December we would take eight points out of a possible 12 I would have 100 per cent have taken it. Now unbeaten in four and another battling display in very difficult conditions, bring on Col U!

@harrybr89737483

Good result. McCormack was immense in the first half and our better performances are largely down to his aggression, commitment and character.

@shrimpersaway

Disappointed that we only drew, but three weeks ago that would have been a heavy loss. MM getting a good run together - bring on the Christmas derbies!

@Simon_Dodd

A good point but can't help but feel hard done on that penalty decision. We must carry these good performances over a full 90 mins. Eight from 12, a good month so far.

@DanBasildonBlue

Excellent first half. Players understandably tired for the second. A hard battled point. Hopefully the injuries aren't too bad @therealdaddsy Good defensive performance, probably a fair result, something more to build on, and great to have more viable options on the bench.

@JohnDavidWood59

Absolutely well done to all players and staff. Through all the adversity you have faced for so long thank you all for the effort you are giving.

@Alan280208

Good point considering the ref, the pitch and the injuries we picked up. On another day we would have picked up three points.

@Gunny_sufc1987

Great point! Had a couple chances to win the game and a blatant penalty that wasn't given. This team is really starting to get itself an identity and that's something we've missed. Bring on Boxing Day.

@allen_bonesy

Very unlucky. Hope the injuries are not serious. Happy Christmas.

@djmikejolly

It says so much that after a battling 1-1 away draw , where arguably an incompetent ref cost us the win, we still feel a bit disappointed. Three weeks ago this would have felt like the result of the season. Four unbeaten and confidence continues to grow. Well done to MM and team.

@DanDobisz

Special mention for Shaun Hobson who has along with Tim Dieng been immense in defence in these last few matches.

@phillsilver9

If we had been able to keep Macca, Akinola and Olayinka on the pitch then I think we would have been able to hold on for the three points. Four enforced changes unsettled the side and you could see the subs were short of match fitness. Dieng MOTM for me.

@Nicey_16

Good progress being made, we'd have lost that by 3 or 4 a few weeks ago. Players showing fight, confidence and belief. Macca makes a massive difference with that bite and experience. 7 points from 9 is a great turnaround!

@OggTheMaster

Said before the game I would take a point away from home so can't complain about that. Thought Egbri, Akinola, Dieng and Hobson played well again. Few good saves from Oxley as well. Penalty was blatant. Ref was awful and interesting from Molesley to have seven defenders at the end.
