SOUTHEND United manager Mark Molesley is hopeful goalscorer Simeon Akinola suffered just cramp during today's 2-0 win against Colchester United.
The striker headed the Shrimpers in front early on at Roots Hall before seeming to suffer a hamstring problem midway through the second half.
But Molesley is hoping Akinola did not suffer a serious injury.
"We’re hoping it’s more cramp than anything else and hopefully with a bit of rest that will settle down," said Molesley.
"We can ill afford any more injuries but hopefully we got him off at the right time.
"Sim is still finding his match fitness.
"He had a long period out and he had a couple of setbacks along the way too.
"But he got 70 minutes and a goal and with a bit of rest I’m sure he will be fine."
