SOUTHEND United manager Mark Molesley insists talks are continuing to finalise the future of five members of his squad.

John White, Alan McCormack and Greg Halford are all out of contract this month while the loan spells of Kyle Taylor and James Olayinka both expire.

And Molesley remains in discussions with the quintet.

“Talks are going on in the background all the time,” said Molesley.

“They are certainly players who have made a big impact.

“We like all of them but some of them are out of our control with the loans.

“There a few things to consider there from their side.

“The players have enjoyed their time here and we’ve enjoyed having them and we will definitely re-visit that one.

“The ones out of contract are Southend players through and through, two of them.

“Their impact has been huge when they’ve been on the pitch and we’d like to see that carry on.”
