SOUTHEND United midfielder Alan McCormack looks set to return in tomorrow's crunch clash with Barrow.

The 36-year-old has missed Blues' last two matches with a calf problem.

But Shrimpers boss Mark Molesley expects McCormack to be fit enough to feature this weekend.

“Macca has had the benefit of a bit more rest and he’s got a week’s training in his legs so he’s chomping at the bit,” said Molesley.

“It will be great to have him back in the squad and I think you’ve seen the influence he has out there when he plays.

"He’s a big option for us on Saturday.”

Left-back Tom Clifford has also missed the last two games with an ankle problem but Molesley is unsure if the defender will return tomorrow.

But striker Brandon Goodship will definitely be missing with a rib injury.

Brandon is still 10 days to two weeks away but Tom Clifford is nearing a return. Whether Saturday is too early only time will tell. If it’s not this Saturday then he’s not far aware and that’s good news for us.
