FORMER Southend United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop has signed a new contract at Manchester United.

The 21-year-old made 39 appearances for the Shrimpers before joining the Premier League giants in January 2020.

And the youngster has now put pen to paper on a new deal which will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2023.

"It’s an amazing club and I’m delighted to be here, and to extend my stay even longer is just incredible," Bishop told the club's website.

"The feeling I had the first day I walked through the door hasn’t changed.

"Driving down the lane at the training ground and coming in the door – it’s the same feeling every day, I’m just delighted to be here. It’s the biggest club in the world and it’s unbelievable to be around the players here.

"It’s a year since I joined and it literally feels the same.”

Bishop, who will soon be heading out on loan, has yet to feature for Manchester United's first team but did play for the under 21s in their 6-0 win at Salford City in the EFL Trophy this season.
