Blues expect on loan Portsmouth forward to be fit to face Grimsby
SOUTHEND United manager Mark Molesley expects on loan Portsmouth forward Reeco Hackett-Fairchild to be fit ebough to face Grimsby Town on Saturday.
The 23-year-old scored the only goal of the game on his debut against Barrow before having to go off with a hamstring problem in the second half.
But Molesley was pleased to welcome Hackett-Fairchild back to training.
"We took real precaution with Reeco and we rested him down at the start of the week but he trained today again in preparation for Saturday," said Molesley.
"He’s building up his match fitness but it might take him a couple of games to get up to speed and get to that 90 minute mark.
"But we were happy with that hour he got on Saturday."
