SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Saturday's 0-0 draw at Grimsby Town.

Decent point away from home and another clean sheet. By far the better team but the pitch looked awful and made it tough. Good to see the lads digging in deep. The ref did not take control of the game at all but glad it did not result in our players losing the game in frustration.

@KetchleyShane

Any away point is a good one especially at Grimsby as our record there is poor. We don’t look or play like the worse team in the EFL any more, but we still don’t score enough goals. Need more creativity in midfield & more options up front.

@tommyharris57

We were by far the better side. Terrible pitch which made for a scrappy game. Grimsby look awful, which is hopefully good news for us.

@FlashDarbs

Hard earned point, terrible pitch. Need to strengthen our options, once Macca was on there wasn't a lot of strength on the bench.

@SteveShelsher

I actually still enjoyed the game as we appeared confident and composed. Grimsby were forced to sit back and played like the away team for 90 mins and we just couldn’t break them down. Only credit I can give Grimsby is the way they defended the amount of set pieces we had.

@AdamMarsh000

Grimsby were set up to defend from the start, referee atrocious again. That being said we offered little going forward, body language was a bit off. Quite odd that Molesley didn't make any changes in the second half. Massive game Tuesday, need Taylor and Clifford out there.

@CFConnolly97

Good to see the defensive improvement continuing, but there is a woeful lack of creativity in the midfield and it's hard to see where goals are going to come from. The XI that finished the game have just three between them. Two points dropped unfortunately.

@griffiths_greg

Scrappy game on an awful pitch. It was important not to lose and although the better team didn’t create too many clear cut opportunities. Defensively solid, which is a real stepping stone to build on.

@thedove01

We were the better footballing side on a dreadful pitch which could be the norm over the next few weeks but we need to be more clinical going forward and also not pick up cheap bookings because of dissent, still it was a valuable point.

@phillsilver9

We continue to see a big improvement from the Blues. This was so close to being the perfect away performance. We played the majority of the game in Grimsby's half but just lacked that cutting edge up front. We were the better team but we must now find goals to win these games

@Johnfrench52Sky

Decent point but awful game. Two sides petrified of losing but the clean sheets are encouraging.

@scottycav13

Looked like we had a good structure to the team, solid in defence and a battling midfield. Could still do with an out and out goalscorer that might be the difference in this sort of game. Pitch and ref were horrible. Decent point on the road.

@Joniboy1976

It was a ‘must not lose’ in my opinion. Thought we did just enough to scrape the victory and Grimsby offered nothing. Brutal game of football. The turnaround of Hobson is nothing short of remarkable, my MOM today.

@DonsEssex

Whereas in the past I would say we need improvement in every part of the team, not now. Defensively great, midfield great in possession but we miss one thing...an out and out goalscorer.

@magictorchessex

So many pitches seem to be in an awful state. Hard to play decent football on that pitch. It was a must not lose game. I thought we were the better side. Take the point and move on to a series of home games with great home form of late.

@LukeSpillman

Decent point really but we must be mindful of our precarious PPG situation just in case the season gets curtailed prematurely. It’s an obvious statement but the next three home games are pivotal to our chances of survival.

@PeterRMiles

We were much the better team without enough quality upfront. Very nearly won it at the death, which would have been a fairer result. Ref atrocious - failure to play clear advantage on three occasions probably cost us the match. Had to go on long walk to calm down.

@RaleighBanana76

We look much more solid now but scoring goals is a real problem. I just think they were there first the taking and a missed opportunity. Still a good point though if we get seven or seven points out of our next three home games.

@BlackshawPaul

The team is vastly improved but I worry where goals are going to come from, we must try to find a target man who can score if we are to avoid a dog fight at the bottom.
