SOUTHEND United manager Mark Molesley remains hopeful Harry Lennon will be back in action before the end of the season.
The centre-back, who last appeared in November, has had operations on both his knee and calf.
And Molesley is pleased with the progress Lennon is making.
“Harry’s had double surgery and he’s been working hard in the gym behind the scenes,” said Molesley.
“He’s done some water based running and we will start him on the Alter G running soon.
“That will be a big milestone for him and hopefully it will be some time next week.
“He’s worked hard but we don’t want to say he will definitely be back before the end of the season.
“But if everything goes well there’s a chance he may be able to but I don’t want to put any pressure on it.
“We’re pleased with how he’s progressing at the moment but the next two or three weeks will be crucial in seeing if he will make it back before the end of the season.”
