SOUTHEND United manager Mark Molesley has confirmed the Shrimpers' move for a midfielder has been halted by a positive coronavirus test.
Echosport revealed at the weekend how Blues had been due to bring in a midfielder from another League Two club before he was found to have Covid 19.
But Molesley still hopes to be able to complete the transfer at some stage.
"We might have to wait a little bit longer but hopefully that one can still come through," said Molesley.
"It was frustrating that that one didn’t quite fall for us.
"Covid got in the way of that unfortunately.
"He would’ve been available for Saturday and Tuesday so it was disappointing."
