SOUTHEND United manager Mark Molesley is backing new boy Tyler Cordner to make a big impression with Blues.
The centre-back has signed for the Shrimpers on loan from Bournemouth until the end of the season.
And Molesley, who worked with Cordner while coaching at the Cherries, is certain the defender will be a good addition.
"Tyler's no stranger to me and I know what I’m getting," said Molesley.
"Centre halves who are six foot four tall, both footed, good in the air and technically good too are hard to come by.
"We’re trying to have the foresight of making sure we’re at our strongest after this transfer window.
"We continue to keep competition for places and it gives us more options.
"We’ve had players who have had to play when they’re not quite ready and we don’t want to be doing that.
"He’s got huge potential and all the attributes you need.
"We will be working really hard with him to realise that potential."
