SOUTHEND United manager Mark Molesley is still looking to strengthen other areas of his team.
The Blues boss has brought in Bournemouth defender Tyler Cordner on loan until the end of the season and also seems set to bring in a midfielder once the intended target recovers from coronavirus.
But the Shrimpers still remain keen to sign a striker and Molesley said: "We’re aware of where we need to strengthen.
"We want to add quality to this group, not quantity.
"Sometimes the right ones are not the easiest to find.
"Sometimes you have to be patient but you also don’t want to miss out on other ones.
"It’s a game of chess at times but we’re working tirelessly on and off the pitch.
"The chairman has been fully supportive of everything we want to do as well and hopefully we get the right people in to further enhance this group."
