SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Saturday's 0-0 draw at Cambridge United.

Well deserved point on the road. Felt we more than matched them. Ash Nathaniel-George had a superb game.

@Kaylalula

Nathaniel-George is different gravy to wingers we’ve had in recent years, solid team performance overall. Ferguson also very solid and accomplished in midfield, the legs and physicality we’ve missed in with Dieng and Taylor.

@JamieGreen95

Frustrating as we've had a few games like this. A good striker would have stolen all three for us, however four points from two difficult games isn't to be sniffed at.

@DanBasildonBlue

Solid performance in a sensible formation. Just have to keep going and hope we haven't left it too late to get ourselves out of this.

@Moorhouse79

Really enjoyed the performance and the shape of the team was spot on. Nathaniel George and Ferguson look quality signings. Really frustrating we didn’t have these players available much earlier we would be mid table easy. Massive gamble from Ron to just play half a season.

@AdamMarsh000

If you had said four points from next two games after the Port Vale horror show we would have taken that. Feel Cambridge were there for the taking. Much better with four at the back and now we have options in midfield. Still look weak up top.

@Manleyst

Terrific four points from two tough games and two clean sheets but if we are going to have a chance of staying up then we must get some forwards into the now. The lack of goals is still a massive concern but well done Mark and the boys on a very good week's work.

@Lee12731925

Great shape and discipline. ANG was superb. Making ourselves harder to beat and this can compensate for our lack of firepower up front. Gathering momentum which could be our greatest asset.

@crowesr2

Four at the back and four points and two clean sheets against two of the top teams - with the addition of a striker to assist Akinola just imagine what could be possible- thought ANG was fantastic today - his best performance for us so far!

@Ianjholmes

A really positive and encouraging week for the Blues and Saturday was a really battling and hard working performance from the whole team. Well played Blues and great to see us out of the bottom two. Onwards and upwards.

@GarethRowe2

Looked like a team playing with confidence, system seems to suit the team and breeds confidence. Just need that piece of quality in the oppositions penalty box, well done boys.

@johnnieeagles

Brilliant point away from home to top off a good week. Brilliant performance and every single player put a shift in, only down side was the lack of clear cut chances. Could have had two penalties. Four at the back is proving yet again to be our best formation. Dieng MOTM.

@KetchleyShane

Four points out of six, against the top two, away, both on shocking surfaces, that's a great return. Hard to pick a MotM, such was the shift they all put in.

@SteveShelsher

Great point which would have taken like a shot before kick off. Reality is that we've had to accep that too easily due to position we find ourselves in but if that striker had been bought as they absolutely should have, we could have got a win. That's shocking from the owner.

@Joniboy1976

Back to back clean sheets is nice to see, lack of goals still worrying.

@seasider_paul

Another battling performance, could have won but will take the draw. Four points from two tough fixtures against teams in the top three when we played them. Need to keep this up and beat those around us when we play them.

@dgsonnet

Good solid away performance, limited Cambridge to half chances. Thought Acquah lead the line well.

@plbacon

Decent display, thought the midfield was much improved. ANG was fantastic and showed great confidence, thought Ferguson was very good too. Back four was solid as was Oxley. Strikers worked very hard. Just need an extra bit of quality and confidence in and around the box.

@thedove01

Massive boost being out of relegation zone. We looked more solid than Cambridge. Our improvement is incredible since November. ANG was the best player.

@alexelnino10

Solid performance. Limited a good side to minimal half chances. Four points from two games away is a good result.

@PJDW3

Striking how that win at Newport boosted our confidence. It was one of our best performances of the season but old failings remain in front of goal. The workrate of the whole team was first class. Elvis, Hobson and Acquah looked in much better form.. theres still hope..

@shrimpersaway

Two great results and clean sheets against two of the top teams. If we can keep consistency and a bit more composure in the final third we’ll be ok.

@AndrewHackling

Well deserved point and two fantastic away results this week against teams at or near the top. Long way to go still and more very tough games coming up, but although we’re harder to break down, we still struggle to score, which could still be our undoing if not resolved soon.

@tommyharris57

Would have taken a point at the start of the day. Psychologically to be out of the relegation zone is a huge boost. Don’t worry about about Grimsby or Barrow having games in hand they have to get the results. Still important that we get in reinforcements though.

@glentiesbhoy

I thought Nathan Ferguson had a good match as a holding midfielder thus allowing Tim Dieng to push forward to support our frontline. A bit more belief at corners and the points could have been ours, onwards and upwards.

@phillsilver9

Would have bitten a hand off for four points from those two games. Clear that a back four is the key to clean sheets, so no more tinkering or back fives please! The fight and effort was there, just lacking quality in the final third. Time to get Ricky Holmes and Nile Ranger out there!

@jmpschooley

Incredible defensive display. Frustrating afternoon, deserved to win that game but the lack of creativity is really showing. Struggling in the final third, no real tests at the keeper, extremely poor crosses. Cambridge didn’t show up and we couldn’t make them pay.

@phoenixmiketv

Well organised and a great effort against top of the League. I can't see goals in this team unless they are gifted to us though.

@kingshrimper

Very good point, couldn’t tell which side was top/bottom.

@bennieyeSUFC

Excellent battling point and probably looked more likely to score than Cambridge. We will need more performances like this going forward but once again there is hope that we can stay out of the relegation zone.

@trevor_tricky

Superb performance all round. Can’t fault a single player. On another day we’d have won that. But four points against two promotion chasing sides can’t be argued with!

@danfairless97

Still 2000/1 to win the League, get on it while it’s hot.

@JOSHBUTCHER1234

A superb point. Finally looked dangerous going forward and kept pushing them until the final whistle. Some good football, so feeling positive going forward.Could improve on delivery from corners.

@VScott2701

Amazing what switching back to a back four can do. Baffles me why we reverted away from it considering how good our form was in December.

@ShrimpersTalk

Thirteen shots an improvement;most blocked not off target.ANG superb but still needs to attack the box more.Dieng good but has missed sitters with his head in multiple games. Acquah good by his standards but never gets crucial decisions right.Try Sim and Goodship up top — playing to feet.

@BryanGOBsmacked

The players obviously look more comfortable with four at the back. Do not change it again MM! We really should have won that game but have desperately lacked a cutting edge and ambition to score goals all season which will be what costs us if we go down.

@BlackshawPaul

Delighted to see a bit of fight and determination. Playing four at the back is an absolute must for the rest of the season. John White and Shaun Hobson were brilliant. Despite that, we desperately need more goals.

@L_O_Z_90

We have clawed something back this week. As the teams down the bottom will do also. Still very much a relegation team.
