NILE Ranger has been added to Southend United's squad, according to the EFL website.
The 29-year-old striker has been training with the Shrimpers for the past 10 weeks and now seems to have done enough to earn himself a second chance at Roots Hall.
Ranger scored 10 goals in 49 games during his first spell with Blues but has not played professionally since leaving Southend in January 2018.
The forward has also been suffering with a slight calf problem during the past fortnight.
Midfielder Jacob Mellis, who signed on transfer deadline day from Gillingham, is not showing on the squad list shown on the EFL website but the club have told Echosport that he has been officially registered.
The squad list shown on the EFL website is as follows.
