SOUTHEND United manager Mark Molesley has spoken of his relief after Simeon Akinola was cleared to return to action.
The striker was taken off against Cambridge United on Saturday after suffering a clash of heads late on.
But Akinola has already been cleared to return to training and will be free to feature against Bolton Wanderers this weekend, much to the relief of Molesley.
"You fear the worst with concussion but thankfully Sim's passed all the protocols where that’s concerned and has done throughout the week," said Molesley.
"He didn’t do anything Monday but we checked him on Tuesday and he was fine. It’s good news it wasn’t more problematic.
"But I’ll have a headache coming upto Saturday I’ve never had before with the options we do have available."
