NILE Ranger is not yet ready to be back in action for Southend United.
The 29-year-old striker is currently working his way back to full fitness after suffering a calf problem in training.
But Blues boss Mark Molesley does not expect to call upon Ranger this week.
“We’ve had a good couple of days with Nile but Saturday is probably a bit too soon for him,” said Molesley.
“We’ve been working hard with Nile and he’s been working hard too.
“If Saturday is too soon then we’re only getting extra days in to him which will make him even more ready for when we do need him.
“We’re not biding our time because we know we need him as quickly as we can.
“But we don’t want to go too early because every day on the training field is a day stronger for him.
“He’s very close, touch wood, to being close for selection.”
