SOUTHEND United have slumped back to the bottom of the League Two table following tonight’s matches.
Blues’ relegation rivals Grimsby Town triumphed 2-1 at home to Crawley Town to end a run of nine games without a win while Barrow won 1-0 at Oldham Athletic.
Barrow now sit above the drop zone on 26 points while Blues and Grimsby both have 24.
The Shrimpers are bottom on goal difference and both Barrow and Grimsby still have a game in hand on Southend who are back in action at high-flying Forest Green Rovers on Wednesday night.
The Shrimpers' Essex rivals, Colchester United, are now 21st in the standings after losing 2-1 at home to Exeter City this evening but Steve Ball's side remain nine points clear of the relegation zone.
