New signing - Blues boss Mark Molesley has brought in Alex Bass on loan
SOUTHEND United have signed Portsmouth goalkeeper Alex Bass on an emergency seven day loan after an injury to Mark Oxley.
Oxley has been ruled out of this afternoon's clash with Salford City due to a groin problem.
And the Shrimpers have moved quickly to bring Bass to the club.
Bass has made five appearances for Portsmouth this season and has played 34 times for Hampshire side in total.
