SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Saturday's 0-0 draw with Salford City at Roots Hall.

It was a good battling performance, and with others losing a decent day. But to get clear we are going to have to start scoring at home and not sure we have the forwards to do this. Time to play Holmes above Hackett-Fairchild, League Two clubs have figured him out now.

@Moorhouse79

Well once again, could not fault the players and their commitment. Great stuff. But the Ranger situation is farcical. What on earth is Molesely doing? This week he is saying Ranger has to work really hard to get a place. Then a few hours later he is on the pitch. What!

@Alan280208

A great point. The defence has made the difference in the past few games and given a platform to build on. I think that back four is probably our best. Injuries annoying but the squad is big enough to cope hopefully.

@Ljarvis27

Deserved point and a good week in terms of improving performances. Looking at Ranger and Simeon being injured we still need to add firepower as we need to turn possession into goals when we have it. Refreshing defensive performance again against a top side. White man of the match for me.

@harrisufc

Tough game, pitch seems to be really affecting our performances at home. Harry Seaden came in in difficult circumstances and gave a confident display. Gutted for Ranger, showed his importance defensively in a brief cameo. Deserved the point with a gritty performance.

@Kaylalula

Strong determined performance, had to dig in deep and managed to do that well especially with the disruption to the goalkeepers going into the game and again at half time. Four points from two games is brilliant against strong opposition. Seaden done well. John White MOTM for me.

@KetchleyShane

Very resolute and strong in defence once again. Four points against two of the fancied teams, unlucky with a few efforts on their goal too. Definite signs of improvement, really thought the game was crying out for Ricky Holmes to maybe unlock a final chance towards the end.

@ScottyBarber12

Pleased for Seaden, disappointed for Ranger; but a reasonable point against a decent side. We still miss so many easy scoring opportunities. Give Holmes and Goodship a run on Tuesday. Need Okayinka and to see what Mellis is made of.

@BryanGOBsmacked

The defensive unit including Seadon in the second half should be immensely proud of how they performed. The whole team put a shift in. We huffed and puffed Acqua should have taken his chances. Draw a fair result it would have been robbery if we went away with three points.

@AdamMarsh000

Classic game of two halves. With the chances we had in the first half we could've won and the same goes for Salford in the second. Great battling performance again from the Blues and another point on the board.

@PJDW3

Gruelling to watch. We had marginally better chances but largely were under the cosh. Well, we might just grind out safety at this rate and I’d be grateful for that. But that is not progress, it’s just patching the leaks.

@Bluntswood

Decent first half, didn’t offer much at all in the second. Seaden did very well and looked very accomplished. Scratching my head on why Taylor was subbed and at how Hackett-Fairchild played the full 90, thought he was brutal. A good point.

@DonsEssex

Massive improvement. We are now becoming difficult to beat. This will prove to be pivotal for our survival. Outside of three goals at Forest Green we’re not at the same level going forward. Just need to have the killer instinct in the forward line.

@lachter_joe

A game which lacked real opportunities. Salford maybe should have gone back with all three points but at the end of the day, four points from six against top teams, no complaints! Gutted about Ranger as well.

@preshedge2

We looked tired today after Wednesday but a point is a great result. We would have lost that game earlier in the season.

@AndrewHackling

A draw was a fair result in a game we would have normally lost. Defence immense again and Seaden was excellent in the second half. Acquah missed two good chances and never looks like scoring. If only we had a regular goalscorer our league position would be so much better.

@tommyharris57

Tough game, but once again bad luck with injuries. I just hope it’s more of a jarring injury for Ranger and he’s back for next weekend. We need some luck over the next month. As much as May 1st could decide our fate March I feel will have a bigger bearing on it.

@glentiesbhoy

A few months ago, this would have been a game we would have lost, so it’s a good point in the scheme of things. Would really like to see a bit more of Holmes.

@BenRudd15

We took a lot of pressure well. Showed good structure defensively. John White an absolute leader. Had a battling midfield but chances were minimal and a good save from Acquah effort and a weak header for other, so still missing that finisher. Ranger looked hungry briefly!

@Joniboy1976

Another strong defensive performance against a good side who only created one clear cut chance. We are looking more incisive up front but am worried injuries may catch up with us again. Would like to see ANG start. A good point.

@crowesr2

Another battling performance particularly in the second half. Full credit goes to the defence for another clean sheet and well played Harry Seaden who definitely saved us a point. Well played lads a positive week for the Blues.

@GarethRowe2

Decent point, results went our way too. Still absolutely nothing going in front of goal which is still the worry, but we have a chance still.

@nikitheshrimper

A real backs to the wall fight and a well earnt point against a side looking for promotion to League One. Would have preferred Holmes to be subbed on instead of Demetriou but hey what's done is done.

@ShrimpersTalk

I'll take the point, but we have to be more ruthless in front of goal. Acquah has improved massively in recent weeks, just needs to improve his finishing. Seaden looked calm and composed in goal and has earned a start in the next games until Oxley returns. Improving all the time.

@DavidBarrett55

I’m pleased with a point and with defeats for Grimsby and Barrow it feels like a win of sorts. Important also to stop that run of home defeats. Tough game on Tuesday though especially with our injuries. Everyone needs to keep their feet on the ground.
