SOUTHEND United manager Mark Molesley felt it was two points dropped for the Shrimpers at Oldham Athletic this afternoon.
Blues were held to a 0-0 draw at Boundary Park.
But Molesley felt his side, who are now back in the relegation zone, had more than enough chances to win.
“The stats speak for themselves and the alarming part of today is that we’ve created more than enough chances to win the game but we haven’t put them away,” said Molesley.
“We have to settle for a point and looking at those chances it’s one that’s got away from us.
“We need points and we need to score more goals.”
Blues have now failed to score in four of their last five games and Molesley believes there could now be a lack of confidence going forward.
“Maybe it’s a lack of confidence but we’ve hit the crossbar twice and we’ve gone agonisingly close a few times,” said Molesley.
“We can’t make excuses though, we’ve got to go and make it happen and show more quality in the final third.
“Yes the pitches can be troublesome but our stats are too low for hitting the target in the final third.”
