SOUTHEND United manager Mark Molesley feels Saturday's clash with Crawley Town might come too soon for Shrimpers skipper John White.
The centre-back has missed Blues' last two matches with an arm injury.
But Molesley will check on the defender again tomorrow before deciding on whether or not to involve him against Crawley.
"John is another one in the balance," said Molesley.
"We’ve keeping him out of the contact work but he has joined in with some of the training.
"Saturday might be a little bit too soon but we’ll assess him again tomorrow and see how he feels.
"We can’t hold anything back and we have to go for it but, at the same time, you’re still a tiny bit scared if you bring someone back too early they might then miss the rest of the season and that would be even more disastrous.
"You have to get the risk to reward right on that one.
"But Tyler (Cordner) and Shauny (Hobson) played really well together on Tuesday so we will make a late call on Whitey."
