ALAN McCormack will miss Southend United's clash with Crawley Town on Saturday but still has a part to play this season.
The midfielder has been sidelined by another calf problem.
But Blues boss Mark Molesley expects the Irishman to feature before the campaign comes to a close.
"Alan should play again this season but Saturday is going to be too soon for him I think," said Molesley.
"He’s done a lot of work with the physios and he knows his body better than anyone.
"He knows when to push it, when to hang off and what’s best.
"At the moment we’re letting everything settle and we will start to push harder again next week."
McCormack returned to Blues at the start of the season and has made 19 appearances this term.
