SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown is keen to find out more about his squad during his first full week back as Blues boss.
Brown took charge of Saturday's 0-0 draw with Crawley Town just a day after sealing his return to Roots Hall.
And the Shrimpers boss is now keen to see more players pushing to be involved at Exeter City on Saturday.
"The main target is to get one or two out of the treatment room," said Brown.
"But we will also be doing an 11 against 11 match behind closed doors so I can have a real look at the players and make more of a judgement on them.
"All I had really was 45 minutes on the training ground on Friday so if there were one of two sitting in the stand you were surprised about that’s why.
"I didn’t know the players and I judged them on the training session yesterday.
"I made my team selection on that but I got a lot of help from Ricky Duncan and Craig Fagan too.
"I’ve got to say it was because of their support we got the point."
