Sent off - Jason Demetriou was shown a red card by Kevin Johnson after a poor challenge on Harry Pell
SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown had no complaints with the red card Jason Demetriou received during the 2-0 defeat to Colchester United.
Demetriou was dismissed for a poor challenge on Harry Pell in the 69th minute at the Community Stadium.
And Brown felt referee Kevin Johnson made the correct decision.
“I agreed with it,” said Brown.
“I won’t be appealing against it but JD has been a stalwart for me in the previous regime and had done well in the first two games I had back.
“It was a bit reckless though and it left us with 10 men.”
Demetriou will now serve a three match ban for the Shrimpers and will therefore not play again this season.
