SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown is not looking at an eight goal swing to keep the Shrimpers in the Football League.
Blues are currently six points behind Scunthorpe United with just two games to go and also eight goals worse off on goal difference.
But Brown is not looking at things that way.
"It’s a mathematical equation now and everyone is talking about this eight goal difference but I’ve been telling the players it's less then eight goals, it’s probably four," said the Shrimpers boss.
"We have to win our two games and they have lose their two, that's the only way we can survive anyway and if that happens then that's a minimum of four goals.
"Scunthorpe also got beaten 4-0 on Tuesday night which gives you a little bit of hope and that’s all we can hang onto at the moment really."
Scunthope head to Bradford City this weekend.
