PHIL Brown has told his Southend United players to 'keep the season alive' when they head to Barrow on Saturday.

The Shrimpers are six points behind Scunthorpe United with just two games to go and require an eight goal swing in their remaining matches to be able to stay up.

But Brown is determined to keep the survival fight going.

"Keep the season alive, that’s my message to the players," said Brown.

"When I look at the League table there’s no R in brackets next to our name.

"We’re not relegated and we’re not down and out.

"We’ll show that on Saturday and show we’re still fighting.

"If we can fighting until the final day of the season then stranger things have happened. "

Blues must win this weekend and hope Scunthorpe are beaten at Bradford City to keep their survival hopes alive.
