SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown has yet to consider his long-term future at the club.

Brown has returned to Roots Hall for the final six games of the season.

But the 61-year-old is not looking beyond Saturday’s clash with Newport County at this stage.

“I’m open to what the chairman has to say but I’m not going to make any decisions until after the game on Saturday, “said Brown.

“We want that to be a winning game and we want to finish the season on a high with three wins in a row.

“I’ve already had reams and reams of paper thrown under my door to do with current contract situations and players available for next season in the National League.

“People are trying to move me in the right direction but I haven’t made a decision on my own career and I won’t until after the game on Saturday.

“Once I’ve done that I’ll move quickly on getting players in and getting players out if I get the right noises from the chairman.”
