Rewarded - John White could have a testimonial at Southend United
JOHN White’s new contract offer from Southend United includes the option of a testimonial.
White has been with Blues on a permanent basis since 2013 and boss Phil Brown is keen for the defender to remain at Roots Hall.
“We’ve made an offer to John, it’s a good one and it includes the option of a testimonial,” said Brown.
“I’d be more than willing to help any way I could with that and he’s a fantastic professional.”
White was signed by Brown during the Shrimpers chief’s first spell in charge during which the 34-year-old was made captain and skippered the side in the memorable League Two play-off final success against Wycombe Wanderers at Wembley in 2015.
In total, White has made 272 appearances for Blues.
