TEN Southend United scholars have been offered a third year in the club’s academy while four have been released.

Tommy Lambourne, Tommy Davis, Tendi Quamina, Damaray Anyadike, Oli Coker, Jimmy Wallace, Bobby Unwin, Cameron Brown, Ergis Shala and Jamie Grossart have all seen their contracts extended.

However Ben Dabbs, Sam Brogan, Freddy Eastwood and Issa Mpenga have all been released.

Blues academy manager Ricky Duncan said: "First of all, we would like to thank the boys that are leaving the club for all they’ve done in their time with us.

"At this moment in time we feel it’s the right decision, but that’s not to say they can’t go on and do well for themselves in the game.

"All have been good servants to the football club and have given everything, and we wish them the best going forward.

"The ones that are staying have got an opportunity to continue their development at the football club.
