A FIVE-A-SIDE football tournament will take place next month to raise funds for South East and Central Essex Mind.

The tournament, which is being organised by mental health group Run Free, will take place at the end of National Men’s Health Week on Saturday June 19.

And Run Free’s Bradley James is already looking forward to the matches getting underway.

“It’s a tournament that’s very much focused on fun and raising money for a great cause,” said Bradley.

“At Run Free we use exercise to help fight our own mental health issues and we wanted to put that to good use by raising money for SECE Mind who do such great work in our area.

“It’s going to be a good laugh and we can’t wait for it to get going.”

The tournament, which is being sponsored by the Finish Line Fund, will be held at Garon Park and will start at 5pm.

Initially there will be room for 16 teams to take part with a minimum of three matches for every side participating.

The winners of the tournament will also play Run Free United at Roots Hall in the warm up for the Chris Barker memorial match which is scheduled to take place in May 2022.

Squads are allowed a maximum of eight players with prices set at £50 per team.
