WEYMOUTH have joined Southend United in wanting to sign Tyler Cordner, Echosport understands.
The centre-back, who ended last season on loan with the Shrimpers, remains in talks with Blues about a return to Roots Hall.
But fellow National League side Weymouth are also believed to be in discussions with the 22-year-old who made 14 appearances for Southend last term.
Cordner is on the look-out for a new club after leaving Bournemouth and a switch to nearby Weymouth, who finished 18th in the National League last season, would keep him close to home.
However, the Shrimpers are also doing what they can to sign Cordner with boss Phil Brown feeling he could select him in either defence or midfield as his side bid to bounce back from relegation.
