In talks - Jason Demetriou is in discussions about a new deal at Southend United
SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown is confident Jason Demetriou is close to committing his future to the club.
The 33-year-old has been with the Shrimpers since 2016.
And Brown is hopeful Demetriou will be staying put.
“I would like to think that one is nearly done,” said Brown.
“With JD it’s more the length of the contract we’re still talking about rather than the finances but I think that one is quite close now.”
Demetriou, who can play at right-back and in midfield, has made 178 appearances for Blues.
