SOUTHEND United are to set to sign experienced midfielder James Dunne, Echosport understands.
The 31-year-old played for Blues boss Phil Brown while at Swindon Town and now looks set for a reunion at Roots Hall, subject to him passing a medical.
Dunne has played 450 matches during his career which has also seen him play for Exeter, Stevenage, St Johnstone, Portsmouth, Cambridge United and Dagenham & Redbridge.
The midfielder had been with Barnet since 2019 and made 23 appearances for the Bees last season.
The Shrimpers are also set to sign Yeovil Town striker Rhys Murphy as well as a creative midfielder still playing in the National League as Brown looks to rebuild his squad.
