RUGBY: Emily Scott was full of smiles after helping Harlequins Women’s side clinch the Allianz Premier 15s title for the first time.

The former Seevic College student helped Quins beat Saracens 25-17.

And Scott could not contain her delight at the final whistle.

“It’s amazing and I’m so happy,” said Scott.

“It’s been a long time coming and in the last couple of years we’ve been building towards this.

“To come and do it this year is amazing.

“ The sun is out, it’s bank holiday and it’s just a fantastic day for us.”

However, Harlequins were forced to dig deep and Scott was impressed with how they saw out the closing stages of the contest.

“It was tough,” said Scott, a former Thurrock T Birds star.

“When we were down to 13 and they were within one score the game could’ve gone either way.

“We had to dig in deep and play really smartly.

“But we did that, we controlled the game well and saw it out.

“We’re really pleased and it’s a great achievement for us.”
