JOSH Coulson has completed a switch to Southend United.

The 32-year-old centre-back has signed a one year deal with the option of a further 12 months.

And Coulson has already set his sights on securing more success in the National League.

"I won this league a couple of years ago with Justin Edinburgh at Leyton Orient and through the play-offs at Cambridge, so I’ve got a bit of experience and I look to bring that," said Coulson.

"Hopefully that helps the team be successful."

Coulson becomes Blues' second signing of the summer and is looking forward to working with boss Phil Brown.

"I met the manager at the training ground, we spoke about what he’s looking to do and it’s very much what I like to be part of," said Coulson.

"He likes his older players to lead by example so I’m looking forward to that.

"It feels like a fresh start for the club and with the gaffer coming in towards the end of last season, unfortunately it was a bit too late to stay up.

"It’s going to be a tough season, but it will be good to see some fans back in the stadiums as well."
