Southend will find out their fixtures for the upcoming 2021/22 season in the National League in two weeks time (Wednesday, July 7) at 1pm.

The 2020/21 campaign ended on Sunday as Hartlepool United beat Torquay United on penalties in the Promotion Final at Ashton Gate.

Dave Challinor's side join champions Sutton United in reaching the EFL.

The promoted pair are replaced by Blues and Grimsby Town following both club’s relegation from League Two.

The formation of teams in each of the three divisions will be finalised following next week's AGM.

The Blues will be bidding for an immediate return to the football league, with the experienced Phil Brown at the helm.

Last season was up there with one of the worst in the clubs history in what was their first season in League Two.

They spent the majority of the season in the bottom two and only avoided finishing bottom of the table, thanks to Grimsby having a worse season.

With Brown in charge and with a number of their squad from last season staying on, Southend are one of the favourites to win the title.
