RYAN Peniston suffered disappointment on his Wimbledon debut this afternoon but remains determined to get back on the big stage.

The 25-year-old from Great Wakering partnered Liam Broady in the men’s doubles but was beaten 7-5, 6-3 by Ken and Neal Skupski.

However, Peniston, who played at Southend Lawn and Garons in his youth, still enjoyed taking to the court at The Championships.

“Even though the match didn’t go our way, it was still a great experience,” said Peniston.

“Credit to Ken and Neal, they were a very good team.

“It was a lot a fun playing alongside Liam and I hope to have some more of these experiences in the future.”

Peniston will back on court tomorrow when he partners Eden Silva against Jeremy Chardy and Naomi Broady, the sister of Liam, in the mixed doubles tomorrow.
