MACRON have been announced as Southend United’s new technical kit partner from the start of the 2021/22 season.

The multi-year partnership has been signed and will see the Italian sportswear company produce the Shrimpers’ kits and training wear.

Blues’ chief executive officer Tom Lawrence said: "Macron have a reputation for quality, style and reliability and we are delighted to announce them as our new technical kit partner.

"Macron are a significant player in the technical kit market and have partnerships with clubs throughout Europe. It’s great to be joining such an impressive portfolio.

And Lawrence also confirmed the Shrimpers would again have three kits this season.

He said: “This year, as well as our home and away shirts, a third kit will be launched in the Autumn.

“The new online shop will be live from 2 August. The Club shop will close on 24 July and will reopen in early August with Macron’s new products.

"Macron will be taking pre-orders for replica kits online from 2 August and fans will be able to collect those orders from the Macron pop up store at Meet the Blues Day which will be held on 15 August at the training ground.”

Macron’s area manager Andy Dyer added: "We are delighted to welcome Southend United to the increasing group of English clubs that have opted for Macron game kits.

"Sharing the history and symbols of a team with more than 100 years of history is a great source of motivation for us to produce a collection that does justice to the identity of the club and its many fans.

“We can’t wait to see the players wearing the Macron hero logo in a very important season for the club in quest to see the Shrimpers back to the Football League."

Macron replace Hummel as the club’s kit supplier.

A club statement confirmed: “From the start of the 2021/22 season, the partnership between Southend United and Hummel will come to an end.

“Both parties move forward on amicable terms and wish each other every success for the future.”
