SOUTHEND United defender Josh Coulson has gone for an x-ray on a troublesome toe injury.
The summer signing has been hit by the injury during pre-season.
And Blues boss Phil Brown confirmed the centre-back had now gone for further checks.
"Josh has gone for an x ray and we’re hoping it’s negative," said Brown.
"The way he trained yesterday suggested it would be negative but he woke up in a lot of pain."
