HARRY Lennon has joined Wrexham from Southend United.
The 26-year-old, who made 39 appearances in three years with the Blues, has joined the National League on a 12 month deal.
And Shrimpers boss Phil Brown confirmed the move came around following concerns about the defender's injury record.
"I’ve been advised by medical people and I’ve had many conversations with Harry," said Brown.
"His demands financially weren’t befitting the fact that he hadn’t really played any games for us in the last three years.
"When your wage demands are high and your playing history is low it’s an unfair assessment of the situation."
But Brown also appreciate Lennon's attributes make him an attractive proposition for clubs.
"I think Wrexham's manager Phil Parkinson has worked with him before at Charlton and don’t get me wrong he’s a left footed centre-back who is a very big unit," said Brown.
"He’s played at a higher level and that’s reason enough for a lot of people to want to sign him.
"But his history of injuries meant there was some scepticism on my part.
"That’s purely it but I’d really like to wish him good luck, just not when he’s playing us."
