SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown insists he will only be concerned by results once the National League season gets underway.
The Shrimpers drew 2-2 at Dartford in their latest pre-season friendly on Saturday.
But Brown will not be reading too much into the score-line at this stage.
"I’m not bothered about results yet," said Brown.
"I’m only bothered about the results after August 21st.
"I’m pleased to see a certain extent after today though.
"We had five or six players get to 90 minutes under their belt which is always a good sign.
"We scored a couple of goals but we conceded a couple of poor ones too.
“I didn’t think it was a penalty for their first goal and the young lads didn’t really stand up to the problem when the sub came on.
“He was on the lively side but it’s a learning curve for quite a few of them.
“The big hitters, if you want to call them that, came on towards the end and rescued a draw.”
