EMMANUEL Idem will not be joining Southend United after a trial spell with the Shrimpers.
Idem spent time with Blues in pre-season and played the full 90 minutes in last weekend’s 2-0 win against Harlow Town at Boots & Laces.
But Southend boss Phil Brown will not be offering the 22-year-old a deal.
“Emmanuel wanted a deal yesterday,” said Brown.
“I don’t literally mean yesterday but he was knocking on my door wanting a deal right now.
“I asked for some time but he wasn’t really prepared to do that. He wanted a deal right now but it’s Harry Seaden who is number one right now.”
Matt Dennis and Hamzad Kargbo remain with Blues and talks continue their parent clubs in a bid to secure loan deals.
