SOUTHEND United boss Phil Brown felt even King's Lynn striker Junior Morias knew he deserved to be sent off against the Shrimpers.

The former Peterborough United striker was red carded late on after stamping on Blues' defender Jason Demetriou.

And Brown believes there could be no complaints about the decision.

"He’s a professional who has been around the block, he knows the game and as soon as he did it he knew it was a red card," said Brown.

"But that can actually galvanise a team.

"You go down to 10 men and throw caution to the wind.

"To a certain extent it gave them a lift in a strange way but we saw the game out and we did enough to win the game."
