SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown heaped praise on midfielder Harry Phillips following Saturday’s 1-0 win at King’s Lynn.

Phillips failed to make a single League start last season.

But the 23-year-old lined up in the centre of the park at the Walks and impressed Shrimpers boss Phil Brown.

“Harry Phillips was different class,” said Brown.

“He hasn’t played double figures in terms of games yet but he got on the ball and he played his passes.

“But the other side of the game was the most impressive.

“He got second balls and made tackles too.

“It was a physical game and I thought he came out with flying colours.”
