SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown insists he has been given the green light to add to his Shrimpers squad if required.
The Blues boss has made 10 signings already this season.
But Brown has now been told by chairman Ron Martin that he can still bring in more additions.
“We had a conversation with the chairman on Monday,” said Brown.
“He made it quite clear that if someone comes out the woodwork who we want then by all means he will support me.
“It was music to my ears and I think that’s come from a direct result of what he’s witnessed so far.
“We’re not top of the league or anything that like but he’s seen a turn in mentality, certainly where the supporters are concerned because they’ve been unbelievable so far.
“If we can get that bandwagon rolling then his contribution would be adding more financial support.
“But I’ll wait for the moment and hopefully there will be someone out there who can improve us.”
