ECHOSPORT talks to Aldershot Town fan Jack Boswell ahead of Tuesday night's match at Roots Hall

It’s obviously been a disappointing start to the season for Aldershot. Were you fearing the worst this season or do you feel the side can recover from the slow start?

"Looking at the young team Searle has assembled I think it was always going to be a tough season especially looking at the strength of the other clubs in the division. We have a seemingly low budget and have an average squad age of 23 so consistency is an issue.

"If I’m honest, I was fearing the worst and the very slow start to the season has shown we may not have the quality to compete this season and unfortunately survival might now be the aim.

"Saying this, there is a lot of talent in the squad so hopefully we can start to pick up points soon."

What do you feel needs to change to start picking up more points?

"I think some additions via the loan market are needed. Some experienced players coming in may help the situation. After losing the opening five games, confidence is very low and the players and management need to make sure some points are on the board very soon.

"A lot of fans are losing patience with both the manager but especially personnel higher up."

You finished 15th last season. Has the team changed too much since then?

"The team has changed a lot since last season, however we have managed to keep hold of a few first-team players such as Lewis Kinsella (100+ apps for the club & captain), Mitch Walker, Mo Bettamer, Alfy Whittingham, George Fowler, Kodi Lyons-Foster and Toby Edser.

"Two great permanent signings were strong centre backs Giles Phillips from Wycombe Wanderers after a successful loan spell at The Shots last year, and Kevin Lokko from Harrogate Town.

"The club have signed up a lot of exciting prospects from the academy for the first team this season, most notably Elis Watts whom has already made several first team appearances after being signed from Newport County. The others being Ryan Hall (20), Alfie Saunders (19), Tommy Willard (21), George Sheridan (19), Harvey Walker (19), Ben Shroll (20), Joe Rabbetts (19) and Reece Miller (20).

"Danny Searle has added loan signings Corie Andrews (AFC Wimbledon) & Wassim Aouachria (Charlton Athletic)."

Who would you say is the dangerman?

"Our main dangerman is Libyan International striker, Mo Bettamer. Mo is just coming back from injury but played 45 minutes on Saturday against Solihull Moors so will be available."

What's the team news for Saturday?

"Kevin Lokko picked up an injury in the warm-up last Saturday so is doubtful. George Fowler was also missing. Other than this, there should be no other problems."
