SOUTHEND Saxons recorded their first win of the London One North season, beating Brentwood 45-14 at Warners Bridge.
However, both Westcliff and Rochford Hundred suffered third successive defeats in National Two South.
Rochford lost 29-3 at Bury St Edmunds and now sit bottom of the table while Westcliff, who are second from bottom, were beaten 50-17 by Leicester Lions at the Gables.
Elsewhere, South Woodham Ferrers started their London Two North East season with a 50-7 defeat at Wanstead.
In London Three North East, Canvey Island lost 21-14 at Epping Upper Clapton while in Essex One, Basildon lost 29-12 at Millwall and Billericay won 24-8 at Old Brentwoods.
