Shaq Coulthirst is back at Southend United.

The 26-year-old striker, who scored four goals in 25 games while on loan at Blues during the 2014/15 season, has returned to train with his former club.

And Shrimpers boss Phil Brown will be taking another look at Coulthirst this week.

“Shaq is back training with us,” confirmed Brown.

“He needs the training right now but he’s showing good signs.

“We had an 11 v 11 in training on Thursday and Friday and Shaq was really pulling up trees in fairness.

"He’s really filled out since we had him here on loan.

"I think he was a boy back then really but he’s definitely a man now and he’s agreed to come back in to train this week too, along with Josh Wright.”

Coulthirst is currently without a club having left Boreham Wood at the end of last season.
